Infographics Will Outperform Your Blog Posts

You are probably familiar with the food pyramid and the idea that you need a wide range of food groups in your diet to be healthy. The same basic principle can be applied to the types of content you are sending out to your audience. Many businesses will only create blog posts, so Facebook followers and website visitors need to click on a link and read through an entire article. There is nothing inherently wrong with blog posts, and they are highly beneficial for a comprehensive marketing strategy. However, in the same way you need different types of food to be healthy you need different content to draw in more people. This is why infographics are incredibly useful.

The reason why a lot of entities focus on blogs is that they are easy to crank out. It does not take long to write a 400-word article and put it up on your website. However, if all you do is give your consumer base 400-word articles to read from, eventually they are going to get bored. Visual pieces of content take more time to create. You need to hire someone who is skilled with the right type of software to build an engaging piece of content from scratch. However, it is wise to look at this as an investment. More time is going to be spent building your infographics, but people are more likely to read the content and share it.

That is the other part where visuals do a lot more good than written content. The best way to reach a larger audience is to create content for your business that is easily shareable. Long chunks of text cannot be shared well, especially on a platform like Twitter that limits the number of characters you can have in a post. This is why visual posts are so beneficial on Twitter and other social media platforms. You can effortlessly post an image that has a lot of text within it on Twitter without going over any character limits. This allows you to get whatever message you have across to your audience, and people will likely be more willing to retweet an image than a long sentence.

As with anything else, it all comes down to striking the right balance. You do not want to do away with blog posts completely, but a few well-crafted infographics can do a lot of good. Make sure to keep track of metrics to see how well your visuals are doing compared to your blogs.
