Embracing the Change in Google AdWords Expanded Text Ads

Google AdWords is a useful tool for figuring out how you can improve upon your SEO-based marketing strategy. However, this tool is constantly changing, so businesses need to adapt so that they do not fall behind. One of the more recent additions to the system is Expanded Text Ads. This allows there to be 50 percent more ad space. However, this addition also means that Google is going to be unable to accept ads in the previous format. Businesses need to update their ads to get the most out of this new update.

There are a few ways to increase your outreach and get the most out of Google AdWords. For starters, you should be implementing useful keywords into the title of your blog posts and articles. In general, the title needs to be succinct but eye-catching so that a potential customer is enticed to read through the entire thing. However, for people to find that article in the first place, they are likely going to enter keywords on Google to search for related topics. The keyword needs to be used in the headline, a couple times throughout the text and in the secondary headline.

The new update also provides content creators the opportunity to add a description to a blog post. While this description area and a few other places where you can add text are optional, it would be wise to utilize everything given to you. The headline needs the keyword, but it is also going to be relatively short. With the headline, you just want to get someone’s attention. The description allows you to present more information that gives the reader a better idea of what the article is going to be about. The headline and description are all you get to someone to click through your blog, so you need to use both to the fullest extent.

Finally, you want to be sure that your new ads created through this update are able to be viewed from mobile devices. More people are using their phones to go through social media and research new businesses. You want your ads to be easily readable from smartphones or else a real mess is going to pop up on your customers’ screens.

It can be a bit of a hassle to have to update your content every once in a while, but ultimately, it is for the best. Keep an eye on Google AdWords so that you know when to update your content.
